The Giant Otter Project is proud to announce a new partnership with artist Marcela Salles, who has created a sculpture inspired by the giant otter. This initiative brings together art and conservation, offering a creative way to support the Project’s activities while raising awareness about the importance of protecting this species.
The sculpture portrays a giant otter in an attentive and expressive posture, highlighting distinctive features such as its body stance and the strength of its limbs. Handcrafted in ivory-colored clay, the piece weighs approximately 3 kg and measures 21 cm in height, 22 cm in length, and 14 cm in width.
Art that Supports Conservation
Beyond its artistic value, the sculpture also serves a meaningful conservation purpose. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will be directed to the Giant Otter Project, contributing to the development of scientific research, environmental education activities, and initiatives focused on protecting the species and its habitats.
Partnerships like this bring art and science together, creating new ways for people to engage in biodiversity conservation.
