Lectures by the Giant Otter Project
Science communication is a key effort of the Giant Otter Project. In recent months, our team has been dedicated to sharing the results of our research and the actions we lead with diverse audiences. Our goal is to exchange experiences, forge new partnerships, and inspire future professionals in the field of giant otter conservation.

June 6: Sustainable Tourism at Pousada Berço Pantaneiro

- Topic: “Climate Change” — presenting data on our population monitoring and conservation efforts.
June 20 & 21: Knowledge-Based Tourism at Fazenda Barranco Alto

- Topic: Giant otter observation, ethograms, and best practices for sustainable ecotourism.
June 17–20: IX National Meeting on the Conservation and Research of Aquatic Mammals (ENCOPEMAQ)

- Topic: The president of the Giant Otter Project, Caroline Leuchtenberger, participated in a panel on the use of telemetry and gave the closing lecture, discussing the impacts of the climate crisis on giant otters.
